| Stanley u11's |
| Stanley enjoyed an improved season from the last campaign. At u10's level level we failed to score in 16 out of 26 games this year this was down to just 5 out of 22 games. We only managed to score 14 goals last year this year our total was 40 goals.Only managed 1 clean sheet last season this year we doubled that to 2 so there is still a lot of improvments we can make there and this is probably the biggest weakness that we have as a team and the one area that we need to make big improvments in.Last year at u10's level we managed 4 points from a win and a draw and finished bottom off the league, this term we managed 16 points from 5 wins and a draw finishing 5th in the league. So overall it was a season off improvment and hopefully this will be maintained at u12's next season.Like to touch on the commitment off players and parents out off the 22 games we played in 3 players appeared in all of the games C Beech,J Morris,R Sweeney.3 players played in 21 out of 22 games C Walsh,C Woolley,B Maundrill.A further 4 players played in 19/20 games D Smith,J Smith,D Spzyrak,K Lacy. T Logan,B Stephens,M Duffy,L Kirby appeared in 13/14 games.Overall the season saw more highs than low's high's been the games against the like's of Ackworth in the league and supplementary cup were both of our clean sheets came.Against New Lodge and Methley at home.Woodkirk home and away,Fryston away and South Elmsall home and gave our all away from home only to be done by some poor refereing descisons.Probably the last game off the season in the supplementary cup semi-final was the best game that the u11's had been involved in losing out after extra time on penalties.Stanley u11's end off season do was held at the rugby club on the 16th of May and thanks was payed to the people who make it all possible.Yvonne and Andy Woolley for for all the behind the scene work such as paperwork, collecting and banking monies organising do's and attending both league and club meetings.Yvonne,Katie and Sonia for running the tea stall at our home games regardless of the weather helping to raise the funds to keep the club running.Sonia,Kelly and Millie for going round with the raffles on a Sunday morning.Steve Maundrill for struggling manfully in all weathers to put up the tea tent on a Sunday morning.Rob,Eric and Tony for helping out on the football side with nets and training.Jeana and tony for securing sponsors Midland Mainline who provided us with funds towards new track suits and water proof jackets. Finally a big thank you to all the parents for giving up their time to get the children to games and training.Individual trophies were given out to players who had played this season. We then moved onto top goal scorer which was Jordan Smith with 14 goals. The next trophy for the most improved player went to Keiran Lacy.Parents player of the year went to Ryan Sweeney and Player of the year was won by Connor Walsh. So the curtain comes down on a long season hope to see you all next season. |
