At the end of another long season Stanley held there presentation on Saturday afternoon. We started the presentation by paying thanks to all the people that contribute to keeping the team going and raising the funds.Katie and Yvonne for running the shop.Steve Maundrill for setting the tent up for the shop in all weathers.Sonia,Kelly and Millie for doing the raffle and thanks to all those that have donated the prizes.Rob,Eric,Tony and Steve for helping out in training putting nets up and in Erics case running the line both home and away.Yvonne and Andy for running the admin side.Big thank you to new sponsors for providing us with a new kit.We then compared this season with the previous campaign and the season couldn't have started any better when for the first time since the begining of the 2005 season that we had a plus goal difference when we opened up with a 3-0 win and it was to stay in a plus throughout the season. This season we played 23 games in total we failed to score in 7 of these games compared to 5 out of 22 last year.We scored 25 goals compared to 28 last year, but probably the best statistic this year is that we only conceded 19 goals compared to 49 last year.We finished fifth again this year but with five more points than last year.We won the same amount of games as last year but we draw six and only lost three. We managed to keep 6 clean sheets this year compared to 2 last.We then moved onto the presentation of the awards first the players all received an individual trophy. We then presented the trophy which went to the most improved player and this year that was awarded to Dean Spzyrak. The next trophy was awarded to the top goal scorer and this award was won by Ben Maundrill. The next award was for the player of the year which as in previous years was a very close run award with Ryan Sweeney been a deserved winner. The next award was the players player of the year as voted by you the players on a weekly basis and the winner of this award went to Chris Beech. Finally we finished with the parents player of the year awards which this year went to goalkeeper Chris Beech .That conclued our awards ceremony we hope to see you all next year.
